Writing advice and mailing list
Having recently moved her blog and her mailing list over to Substack, Lou regularly publishes writing advice online in articles and videos. Subscribe to have a weekly blog delivered to your inbox or read in the app. The articles are mostly free to read when they are first published and eventually disappear behind the paywall! Videos are for paid subscribers only. You'll also find writing prompts and guides to getting published over on Substack. Lou also occasionally writes articles for other blogs, such as Jane Friedman's, and has self-published a series of short friendly guides to the writing process.
Mentoring
Lou is an experienced writer working across fiction, poetry, plays and nonfiction. She has supported a wide range of writers through written and verbal feedback and offers flexible mentoring shaped around each writer’s needs and the stage they are at in their creative journey. Her mentoring is designed to provide guidance, encouragement and practical support to help writers make progress and work towards their goals. This might include acting as an accountability partner, helping to structure a book, developing ideas, or offering strategic advice at key points in a project.
